Mixed reviews with strong positives for training services offset by recent concerns about facility maintenance.
“Crossroads is one of the best dog training facilities that I have seen. They were able to train my four month old puppy and Well behaved valued member of the family. The attention to detail and reporting was amazing.”
— David Reimer“I have been taking my dog here for nearly 3 years after taking one of their dog training classes through Long Beach Parks and Rec. They have always been wonderful (my dog literally tries to go back inside when I pick her up), but recently they went above and beyond. On her recent boarding stay, staff realized my dog was acting unusual and after contacting me, we decided she needed to go to the vet. They contacted 5 local vets (with no openings) so they got her transportation to the local emergency pet hospital where the vet was able to diagnose and treat something that if left untreated would have been life threatening. She is now home recovering because staff was attentive and recognized something was wrong and got her promptly to treatment while I was on the other side of the country unable to do it myself. I hope no other dog has a medical emergency while in their care, but rest assured, if they do, the staff is just as amazing in an emergency as they are during good times.”
— Maggie Gardner“Unsanitary. As I was approaching the business with my dog Gerald, I noticed a foul stench, as I walked closer I noticed there was bags of dogs poop splattered all over the sidewalk. Directly in front of the business. Only could of came from one place. Disgusting. I immediately turned around and took my business elsewhere. I advise the same. Attached are photos.”
— Gavino Torres“I am writing this with a heavy heart. During what supposed to be a 2day stay, my beloved Roxy tragically DIED. She got GVD (bloat) while under their care. She was rushed to the emergency hospital, it was severe according to the xray. Due to her age (12yrs old), she would likely not survive the 10k surgery. I made the painful decision to have her euthanized. All this happened while I was at a town, plus the facility does not provide an emergency phone number during non-business hours. The communication after the incident, was cold and dismissive. To this day, I am left with unanswered questions about what truly happened, especially when her vet wrote a doctor's note saying she was in good health to board at this resort. When I was grieving and desperate for answers, the owner finally called. His call came in as if it was an inconvenience (24hrs later). He was rude, cold and completely lacking compassion. He was sarcastic by saying " what do you want me to do? Give you one of my dogs?". He was yelling at me. He was defensive and was completely void of empathy. When I asked to return the money that I had spent so far, he said. "That's not going to happen", with a disdain tone. I ended up hanging up on him, and he later wrote a long text, and at the end he apologized for his emotions getting the best of him. By this time the damage was done. If you value your pet's life, I strongly urge you to take them somewhere else. I wouldn't want someone else to go to the same tragedy, pain and heartache as I have.”
